333 films to SCARE you to DEATH!!!

While observing the books in the Clearance rack @ Barnes and Noble I came across this book. It is very rare if I find a book in this section but this book caught my attention. Horror films are my favorite so when I saw the title of this book I just had to get it. It is interesting to see how Horror movies were introduced. Starting from 1896 to 2009 it tells you a brief summary of the movies in their respective eras along with the actors that portrayed in the movie. People like Hitchcock, Poe, King and others that started it all.

Witch & Wizard series by James Patterson

My first James Patterson Novel series. I read both books, Witch & Wizard along with Witch & Wizard: The Gift in 2 weeks. I literally couldn't put the book down and I just read page after page after page. I was left hanging in suspense at the end of the 2nd book and finally I have closure in knowing the 3rd installment, The Fire will be released Dec 5th.

Synopsis:
This is the astonishing testimonial of Wisty and Whit Allgood, a sister and brother who were torn from their family in the middle of the night, slammed into prison, and accused of being a witch and a wizard. Thousands of young people have been kidnapped; some have been accused; many others remain missing. Their fate is unknown, and the worst is feared—for the ruling regime will stop at nothing to suppress life and liberty, music and books, art and magic...and the pursuit of being a normal teenager.

Synopsis for Book 2:
When Whit & Wisty were imprisoned by the wicked forces of the totalitarian regime known as the New Order, they were barely able to escape with their lives. Now part of a hidden community of teens like themselves, Whit and Wisty have established themselves as leaders of the Resistance, willing to sacrifice anything to save kids kidnapped and brutally imprisoned by the New Order.

Synopsis for Book 3:

Whit and Wisty Allgood have sacrificed everything to lead the resistance against the merciless totalitarian regime that governs their world. Its supreme leader, The One Who Is The One, has banned everything they hold dear: books, music, art, and imagination. But the growing strength of the siblings' magic hasn't been enough to stop the One's evil rampage, and now he's executed the only family they had left.

Eat This! 365 Reasons to Stop Dieting by Mary McHugh

This book makes me laugh because it has funny facts that make you think about "not dieting". I find it to be a great pick-me-up. Fact # 48 says Life is too short to go without Chocolate. Fact # 260 says Extra weight is good for extra traction in winter driving conditions. Fact # 190 says Diets are expensive...And that is just some of the funny facts. I don't want to give all the facts away!! But I definately recommend you pick up a copy & enjoy it over some slice of cheesecake!

Stephen King's "Misery"

Manuel Puig's "Kiss of the Spider Woman"

The title alone is what drew me in to read it when I was reading through the book reviews in one of my magazines. In reading what it was about it hit that "interesting" factor in my head. I am currently half way done in reading the book. But I am looking forward to seeing the 1985 movie portraying the very same characters from the book.

Synopsis: Sometimes they talk all night long. In the still darkness of their cell, Molina re-weaves the glittering and fragile stories of the film he loves, and the cynical Valentin listens. Valentin believes in the just cause which makes all suffering bearable; Molina believes in the magic of love which makes all else endurable. Each has always been alone, and always - especially now - in danger of betrayal. But in cell, each surrenders to the other something of himself that he has never surrendered before.

Stephen King's "Cell"

I have to say this was 1 of many favorites because I read it in 3 days! The concept was different to me that I simply couldn't put the book down...this book also made me think because we are now a modernized world where we use our cells for everything and anywhere...

Synopsis:
Artist Clayton Riddell had been in Boston negotiating a successful deal to sell his comic book project. His joy at finally hitting it big is shattered by an event called The Pulse which causes all those who were using their cell phones at the time of The Pulse to become zombies attacking and killing anyone in their way. Fortunately for Clay, he does not own a cell phone. In the panic to get out of Boston and find his way home to his wife and son in Maine, he is joined by Tom McCourt, a man he meets in the meleĆ© immediately following The Pulse and a young girl, Alice, who they rescue from being killed by one of the “crazies.” The story follows their terrifying journey, avoiding capture—and worse—by the “crazies” who are beginning to “flock” and are led by one they call Raggedy Man as they attempt to reach Maine and a place called Kashwak which they hope will be their salvation
